Today’s Multiple Streams of Income

Oh how things change. Just a few years ago, all the rage was creating multiple streams of income. The savvy marketer used Google Adsense, banner ads from any number of affiliate companies, Amazon and Ebay. It was easy at first to make money and then it got very difficult.
Today, the game has changed and if you know how to play it, you can make money online with the new multiple streams of income. With the advent of Twitter, Facebook, Blogger, Wordpress and many other ways to get your name out there, new and better ways of making an income from them has emerged.
I want to discuss some of these changes. If you have a Twitter account and you have a significant follower list, you can make a small amount of money using RevTwt, Twittad and Magpie.
RevTwt lets you post up to 4 ads a day on your Twitter account. If you Tweet at least 20 times a day, the ads won’t distract from your account. I gain followers at a pretty steady rate. Sure, some people unfollow me and I bet some of them might unfollow me if they see an ad, but I gain followers at about 30 followers to 1 unfollower. I know people who get all upset about losing a follower. Who cares. Move on and get over it. If your follower list is very specific to the categories of ads offered, you will make some money. If you have a large follower list, you will also make some money. Give it a try. I like it a lot.
Twittad lets you put your profile page up for sponsorship. Let’s say you have a profile that is mostly about woodworking. You put your profile up for sponsorship and someone out there might rent space on the profile page for a week or up to a month for $5 to $30 or even more.
Magpie is a bit like RevTwt but they ask you to Tweet some before an ad will run. I have received up to $22 for a single Tweet ad but I don’t get many of them. Five to six ads a month has been my average so far.
If you have a blog, there are some new ways to generate income. PayPerPost matches you up with advertisers who will pay you to post an article on your blog about their service. You can turn down any offers so you do not have to write a post that does not match your blog.
I have found the most effective way to generate income, other than Adsense, is through a company called Logical Media. They offer a huge amount of companies who want you to post ads on your blog or website. The great thing about most of them is that they pay you on a per lead basis. You have a much better chance of generating income from per lead campaigns than any other. Let’s say you have a blog about losing weight. You could write a post about a company called “3 Easy Steps to Weight Loss” Logical Media has an affiliate link for the company. If someone reads your post and clicks through to the company and signs up for free information, you will receive $2 for the lead. You can see how this can add up. If you write a good post, using good keyword placement, you can get picked up on Google’s search engine. People who search and use the organic traffic searches often will follow through on lead campaigns. Using your Twitter account to announce your blog post a few times a day will also generate traffic. Make sure that Adsense is also on your blog because the person reading the post about losing weight may decide they are not interested in it but might find a link on the Google ads. If you get only 5 people to sign up for free info, you will make $10. Do that every day for 30 days and it equates into $300. Now multiply that by as many different posts about different companies’ offers and you can make a lot of money. It all comes down to putting in some work. Work hard and smart and you can make it.
You can find thousands of companies willing to pay you a commission for driving traffic to their site. Commission Junction, Linkshare, and Shareasale are just a few of the better ones. They are similar to Logical Media but do not offer as many per lead offers. You must have a blog or website to be accepted by any of them. make sure you have a decent site before signing up with any of them.

Making Money on Twitter Using RevTwt

I am going to steer away from blogging today and discuss making money from your Twitter account. I have attempted to use Magpie and have had some mixed success with it. The bigger my account got, the less chance that I would have an ad run through my account. You can make a lot of money through Magpie if your profile is chosen but it just does not happen enough to see a regular income coming your way.
I turned to RevTwt to see if I could have some success and I have to say that I like it, but I do need to let you know upfront that the amount of money I make on it is not a lot. It pays for a week of groceries each month but it is growing as my followers numbers grow and that is important.
You can sign up for a RevTwt account if you have at least 50 followers. They make sure you do not spam people by only allowing a very small number of ads to be run on your account each day. They even will run your ads for you if you allow them to. That is what I have chosen to do because when I let them post my ads I make more money than when I pick them.
I have Twitter accounts and they all have over 600 followers with the largest one up around 12,000. I have all of them signed on with RevTwt and they are all on auto-post. I check my account at the end of the day and I consistently make money with them. It has become very consistent too. As my follower numbers have grown, so has the amount of revenue that I generate. It is kind of strange to me that my 2nd largest Twitter account, with only 1,200 people actually is pretty close to the big account in revenues and I think it is because of the focus of the account. It focuses more on making money whereas my biggest account is more of a general catch-all account.
You will not get rich using RevTwt, but I like using it because it gives me another stream of income. When you add it to my Adsense, Chitika, Amazon, other affiliate companies and Kontera links it all adds up to a nice income. You might want to check it out. If you put it on auto-post, you really never have to worry with it. Just make sure that you continue to post as normal to your Twitter account because you will get banned if you only run ads. You do not want to turn people off of your account by just running ads. I usually post pretty regularly to all of Twitter accounts. For every ad that gets run, I post about 10 to 20 comments. The more I post regularly, the better my RevTwt revenue is too. I have noticed on days I do not post much, my income drops significantly.

How to Keep People Coming Back to Your Blog

You have created a blog and you have started using social media sites and other techniques to drive traffic to your blog, but the number one way to ensure success is to get return traffic. If you post daily to your blog and you have a 1000 people who have bookmarked your site and come back often to see what new content you have, then you will be successful. Furthermore, some of those returning people will subscribe to your feed or to whatever auto-responder you might offer(if you do that)and these people will get the updates sent to their e-mail which is a sure thing for a visit back from them.
So, how do you get all of those return visitors? First and foremost, you absolutely must offer unique and valuable content. It must be unique and something that the reader cannot find somewhere else. If you comment on another site’s work and give a link to that work, odds are that the reader will go to that site and then become a return visitor for them and not you.
Valuable content is the other part of the equation on getting people to return to your blog. You may have unique content but if it is not valuable, then those people will simply move on to a another site and you will be forgotten instantly. Content that is valuable is content that provides some sort of value to your visitor. If you have a blog about tips on becoming more mechanically able to fix your own bicycle, then you must be able to actually teach the reader to become more adept to fix their bicycles or there will be no reason for them to return to your site.
As I have said before, the art of blogging and succeeding at monetizing your blogs is difficult. I really do not think it is very competitive because most people give up after a month or less. It is all about persistence and testing. Do these things, be patient and you will succeed.
One last note on this subject. I do think this is the number one thing you need to remember in trying to gain return traffic. Make sure to give to people. Don’t go into this expecting them to give you anything. Offer valuable content and offer it for free. Think about it. This entire blog gives free advice on making money online. A lot of what I give you here you would have to pay big money for elsewhere. I have never asked you for money and I never will. I make my money on here from the Chitika links, the Adsense ads, the affiliate testimonials and other ways. I never ask anyone to click on any links because that would violate the companies’ TOS, but also because I know that many people will read the valuable content I give them and they might need to research further. I hope they do because they will only become better by digging into the research. If they find a link on my blog that helps them, they will click on it and I will receive money for that. I only want them to click on a link if it is also valuable and will help them. They win and I win and that is the way it should work. If my content does not help them and they leave without finding a link that helps them, then it just was not meant to be and I am okay with that too.
In summary, remember to always offer unique and valuable content and give to people without ever expecting anything in return. By doing these things, I promise you will eventually succeed.
