Weekend Favs February Four

My weekend blog post routine includes posting links to a handful of tools or great content I ran across during the week.

I don’t go into depth about the finds, but encourage you check them out if they sound interesting. The photo in the post is a favorite for the week from Flickr or from my own travels.

First run of the day Telluride

Good stuff I found this week:

Quipol – Easily create and embed social polls that are very easy to use and very good looking

Transcribe – free online tool that makes it much easier to transcribe an audio – type and listen in the same place and keyboard shortcuts let you slow the audio down and skip around.

SocialBro – Great piece of software that allows you analyze and manage your Twitter following, including the best times to Tweet when your following are on Twitter.

Good stuff I found this week:

Brickify – this one goes in the fun category – this tool turns any image into a scheme for Lego bricks – it even gives you the schematic and inventory you would need to purchase – try your logo – might make a nice addition to the office.

OnlyWire – highly flexible tool that allows you to automatically submit content to multiple social media sites

CloudFlood – Tool that makes it very easy to create a campaign to give away a free report or tool for a tweet or Facebook Like

Good stuff I found this week:

MyVBO – Stands for Virtual Business Office, but this tool, pointed out by one of my readers, looks like the ultimate dashboard for managing marketing, including all your social media, as well as web analytics and financial data.

Hello Bar – this simple top of the page bar loads a gentle message for visitors to your site and can be a nice way to do things like increase newsletter subscriptions or point out recent happenings. I’ve seen it crop up this week on ChrisBrogan.com and MariSmith.com

Zipcast Meetings – this is an incredible add-on to Slideshare that allows you to launch an online presentation using any slides you’ve uploaded to Slideshare. No downloads, no browser or non Mac issues, instant online presentation – this should be huge.

Good stuff I found this week:

Treepodia – Platform that allows you to turn an entire product catalog into a video catalog

Browser Password Asterisk Revealer – simple bookmarklet that makes it easy to see your passwords rather than show them as asterisks – I know a potential security risk, but used correctly a time saver too.

MuckRack – Source of information about and for journalists on Twitter – very cool way to follow stories and journalists important to your industry.

Good stuff I found this week:

LastPass – LastPass is a password manager that makes web browsing easier and more secure. It creates random cryptic passwords and auto fills forms – c’mon admit it, your dog’s name is not a very good password choice.

Topicmarks – Topicmarks summarizes text documents for you electronically. Get a smart synopsis in minutes instead of reading everything yourself. Keeping up on industry trends just got easier.

Hyper Alerts – Hyper Alerts is a feature that sends you an email within minutes after a posting on your Facebook Fan Pages – or only a summary each hour, day, week or month if you so prefer.
